Recreating a scene from Memoirs of a Geisha

Through this project, I refined my visual storytelling, cinematography, and production design skills, gaining hands-on experience interpreting complex narratives for the screen.

Being part of the project from building the set to filming was a transformative experience that deepened my understanding of the intricate process behind bringing a cinematic vision to life. As AD, I immersed myself in every stage, from meticulously crafting the set to capturing the narrative essence on camera.

In recreating this pivotal scene from "Memoirs of a Geisha," we focused on capturing the elegance and tension of the tea room setting, as Mameha and Chiyo discuss Mrs. Nitta's plans.

Our production aimed to capture the timeless elegance and narrative diversity of "Memoirs of a Geisha."

Special thanks to Producer Richard Soto for his unwavering support and vision, Director Vanessa Leiva for her guidance and creative direction, Camera Operator Giovanni Morales for capturing the beauty and essence of each frame, and to myself as Assistant Director for helping bring this scene to life with dedication and precision. Your contributions have made this project possible, and we are grateful for your talent and commitment.

We are deeply thankful to Professors Justin Paul and Mario Congreve for their invaluable mentorship and expertise, which enriched our production with profound insight and artistic guidance. Your contributions have left an indelible mark on this film, and we are privileged to have had your outstanding support and collaboration.
